The question that often follows picking your niche is figuring out your offers.
Sounds simple, right? Tell everyone you’re a [Insert Your Niche Here] Coach and off you go. But, even within your niche, clients are going to come to you wanting different levels of service. And if you want to build a successful coaching business, it’s good to be able to help them all.
Let’s dig in to some basic structure. There are 3 levels of coaching that I recommend building into your coaching business:
- Accountability Coaching
- Performance Coaching
- Breakthrough Coaching
Accountability Coaching
Accountability Coaching goes by many names: Action Coaching, Time Management Coaching, Momentum Coaching, Outcome Coaching, you get the idea. This is your entry level coaching. These are shorter (usually 15-30 minutes), lower-cost sessions that focus on keeping your client accountable and making progress on a task.
Interestingly, clients will often start and end their coaching journey with you in this category. They show up thinking they need help with a project or goal and just having someone hold them accountable will get it done. It’s pretty common for deeper issues to emerge that need to be handled to help them overcome their blocks. That’s where your other levels of coaching come in.
Performance Coaching
Also-known-as: Implementation Coaching, Execution Coaching, Drive Coaching, Motivational Coaching, Clarity Coaching, Success Coaching, this is where you start to go beyond Accountability and work with your client on things like behaviors, strategies and systems. These are longer (usually 45-60 minutes), mid-cost sessions and you’re now working with your client to enhance performance and accelerate results.
Some clients will seek you out for this kind of help right from the start. They may also come back to it after doing more advanced Breakthrough Coaching with you. It’s not unusual to have a client start in Accountability Coaching only to find that what they really need is Performance Coaching and they quickly make the shift into this enhanced coaching.
This is the category that tends to get the most creative names and can even be named for the niche you chose. Some general possibilities include: Transformation Coaching, Empowerment Coaching, High Performance Coaching, Peak Performance Coaching, Quantum Coaching.
This is your gold-star, high-impact, high-ticket coaching. In addition to Accountability and Performance level material, here you are also helping your clients enhance alignment and fulfillment to naturally create consistent results. Things like mindset, limiting beliefs, emotions and baggage are addressed at this level.
This is also where you will tend to have more package options with short and long-term options for clients to choose from. Depending on your niche, you may even want to offer special experience packages like retreats, one-on-one intensives, weekend breakthroughs, etc.
